Ventspils University College offers academic and professional higher education in two study directions:

Economics and Management Studies with the specialisation in the following areas:

• Finance Management and Management Accounting,
• Marketing Management,
• Logistics Management,
• IT in Management.

Translation Studies with specialisation in:

• English - Russian - Latvian,
• German - Russian - Latvian.

Duration of general studies: 4 academic years or 8 academic semesters.

After 4-year studies in Management Sciences and defending the bachelor's thesis, students obtain an academic degree of a Bachelor of Social Sciences.

After 4-year translation studies and defending the qualification paper, students obtain a professional diploma of a translator/interpreter.

In the academic year 2001/2002 Ventspils University College began a new two-year higher-level study programme - Master of Business Administration.

Next year Ventspils University College is planning to begin another two new study programmes. Ventspils University College has made a decision to develop the IT course; currently two programmes are being developed - a two-year college level programme and a four-year bachelor's degree IT programme.

Within the framework of the Faculty of Translation Studies it is planned to begin a master's degree programme in the Public Relations speciality.

In order to develop co-operation with other universities and take part in different exchange programmes more actively, Ventspils University College is working on several Management courses in English as well as a new programme in Latvian studies.
