Ventspils University College is situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea in Latvia which is 200km from the capital of Latvia Riga, and the distance by sea to Stockholm in Sweden is 180 miles.

Ventspils University College is an accredited state higher school founded in 1997 due to the support and initiative of the local authority in Ventspils.

Ventspils University College offers both academic and professional studies in Business Administration, Electronics, Information Technologies and Interpreting / Translation.

During the academic year 2007/ 2008 there were about 800 students studying at Ventspils University College. There are more than 60 members of the teaching staff, and half of them hold the doctoral degree.

Ventspils University College is a participant within LLP Erasmus (2007- 2013) programme.
